My passion has always been art and design ever since I was a little girl. I was always doodling cartoon caricatures particularly cats and cows.
When I left Intake High School, Leeds in 1991, I went to Leeds college of Art and Design. I studied 3D Design and Product Design and successfully graduated with a Btec Higher National Diploma in Product Design. My tutor always said I had a good eye for colour to match my bubbly personality.
I've been through some very difficult times in my life but art, design and my dreams and ambitions have always kept me driven in life. For several years now I have been struggling with anxiety, and still do, but I feel my art has really helped me to overcome my difficulties.
Writing children's stories is something else I enjoy doing. I always wanted to write and illustrate my own children's picture book with my quirky animal caricatures. So one day I decided to do just that. I have just completed my first children's picture book called 'Kody the Cowboy' inspired by my friend Kody. The story is about making a dream come true :) I also have been working on ideas for two other books; Tess the Slinky Glamour Puss' inspired by my beautiful cat Tess, and 'Flossy the Pink Cow' which is about loving and accepting yourself for who you are. All my illustrations are very colourful and are created using black pen and coloured pencils, which is my favourite art medium to work in.
In addition to my art I also design and make denim gift ideas, and recently founded 'The Denim Gift Company' www.thedenimgiftco.com
I am now 38 years of age and determined to succeed and make my dreams come true!
